When Is Gossip Girl Leaving Netflix? Last Day: Oct. 28

Yes. Netflix US now shows “Last day to watch on Netflix: October 28” for the original Gossip Girl. That makes October 28, 2026 the final day to watch all six seasons on Netflix US under the current availability window. Netflix uses this notice when a title is scheduled to leave within the next month.

Gossip Girl Netflix Status: Quick Answer

When Is Gossip Girl Leaving Netflix?

October 28, 2026 is the last day to watch Gossip Girl on Netflix US. The important wording is “last day to watch,” not simply “leaving on October 28.” You can still watch the series on October 28; after that date, it is expected to become unavailable on Netflix US under the current licensing window.

Netflix explains that when a show or movie is leaving within the next month, it displays a “Last day to watch on Netflix” message on the title’s Details page or briefly when playback starts. See Netflix’s official explanation of Last Day notices

All six seasons returned to Netflix US on October 29, 2024, according to Netflix Tudum. The new Last Day notice confirms that this US availability window is now ending.

Can You Finish Gossip Girl Before October 28?

The original Gossip Girl has 121 episodes across six seasons. At roughly 42 minutes per episode, the full series is about 85 hours of viewing. Starting around the end of September, finishing everything before October 28 would mean watching roughly four to five episodes – close to three hours – every day.

If you are already partway through the series, prioritize the seasons you have not finished instead of restarting from Season 1. The Last Day notice is most useful as a planning deadline, not as a reason to rush through episodes you would rather enjoy at your own pace.

Is Gossip Girl Leaving Netflix Everywhere?

No. The October 28 Last Day notice discussed here is for Netflix US. Netflix availability is regional, so the US date should not be treated as a global removal date.

Regional licensing can differ even for the same show. If Gossip Girl is still available where you live, the most reliable check is the local Netflix title page and its Last Day message.

Why Is Gossip Girl Leaving Netflix?

Netflix has not published a Gossip Girl-specific explanation for this departure. In general, licensed shows leave when Netflix and the rights holder do not renew the current licensing window.

Netflix says it considers whether the rights are still available, how popular the title is in a region, and how much it costs to license. If you want the broader explanation, see Why Do Shows Leave Netflix?.

Where Can You Watch Gossip Girl After Netflix?

US viewers already have another subscription option: the original Gossip Girl is currently available on HBO Max as well as Netflix. That means you do not need to wait until the Netflix departure to switch services.

Streaming availability can change, so check the service before subscribing or buying. Current US availability is also listed on JustWatch.

What Happens to Netflix Downloads After Gossip Girl Leaves?

Netflix downloads are not permanent local video files. Netflix says downloaded titles expire after a certain amount of time, and once a title is no longer available on Netflix, it cannot be renewed or downloaded again. For the full rule, see What Happens to Netflix Downloads After a Title Leaves?.

So if you use Netflix’s official Download feature before October 28, do not assume those downloads will remain available indefinitely after the show leaves the catalog.

If You Want a Local Offline Copy Before It Leaves

If Gossip Girl is available through your Netflix account and you want more control over offline viewing, Keeprix Netflix Downloader can save accessible episodes on Windows or Mac as local MP4 or MKV files for personal offline viewing.

Keeprix supports batch downloads, available subtitles and audio tracks, and Netflix video quality up to 1080p when the source allows it. The free version includes one full Netflix download, so you can test the workflow before deciding whether you need more.

For a six-season show like Gossip Girl, the main advantage is time. Instead of trying to finish the entire series before a platform deadline, you can organize the episodes you have legitimate access to in a personal local media library and watch them on your own schedule.

Step-by-Step: Downloading Gossip Girl with Keeprix

Here is how to use Keeprix Netflix Downloader to build your personal offline watchlist before losing access:

Step 1: Download and install Keeprix on your Windows or Mac computer. Choose Netflix. Open the built-in browser within the app and log into your active Netflix account while the show is still available.

Step 2: Search for Gossip Girl, open the show page, and then click the Download button on the right.

Step 3: Choose your favorite episodes and use the batch download feature to save multiple episodes efficiently to your local drive.

Practical Tip: Gossip Girl has 6 seasons of content. If you plan to batch download the entire series, check your computer’s hard drive space first to ensure you have enough local storage available for all the video files before starting the process.

Once finished, your episodes are stored as flexible local files that you can organize, rename, and watch on compatible screens without worrying about internet access or the October 2026 removal.

Yes. October 28 is the last-watch date shown by Netflix US, so the series should still be watchable that day.

Q4: Is Gossip Girl leaving Netflix UK?

The current Netflix UK title page already shows Gossip Girl as unavailable, so the US October 28 date does not apply there.

Q5: Is Gossip Girl leaving Netflix Canada?

The current Netflix Canada title page already shows Gossip Girl as unavailable. The October 28 Last Day is a US notice.

Q6: Is Gossip Girl leaving Netflix Australia?

Netflix downloads expire after a set period. Once a title is no longer available on Netflix, it cannot be renewed or downloaded again, so official app downloads should not be treated as permanent copies.

Q10: Is it legal to save Netflix episodes?

Keeprix is designed for personal offline viewing of accessible videos. It allows you to save videos you already have permission to access for your personal library; it does not grant ownership or distribution rights.

Final Thoughts

Gossip Girl is now a confirmed Netflix US departure: October 28, 2026 is the last day to watch all six seasons. If you are still watching, use the date to plan what you realistically want to finish rather than waiting until the final week.

Netflix titles moving in and out of the catalog is normal. Keep an eye on the Netflix Leaving Checker, watch for “Last day to watch” notices on shows you follow, and plan early when one appears.

If you prefer not to plan every rewatch around licensing changes, another option is to build a personal local media library from videos you already have legitimate access to. That way, favorite movies and series can fit your own schedule instead of a platform countdown.
